Changing Injectors
#1
As one of my injectors (one closest to the cambelt) is sounding like a machine gun, I'm planning on fitting a refurbed set of 307 injectors. I realise new copper seals (which thickness though?) and clamp nuts are needed, but is there any requirement to clean up/re-cut the injector seats?

There are tools available for the job.

When i changed mine i just renewed the copper washers, after i pulled out the injector, i just shone a torch down the hole to check the condition of the seat, they were all fine, if they need a clean try wrapping emery cloth on the end of a screwdriver.

If the original copper washers are ok there is no reason you cant anneal them and re-use. I have never used new clamp nuts either. As above check the seat, it might have a bit of carbon on there (although it shouldnt really) and clean back to aluminium without damaging it.

When re-fitting the injectors give the body (under the clamp flats) a light smear of copper grease for easier future removal.
