#61
Splitter is still there its just yellow , i didnt take it off as im getting a cupra one shortly Smile

Has it had a full respray previously? If not, that is a surprisingly good match on the sundance.

Tbh its abit out in dull light but in sunlight it looks bang on , yellow is a weird colour tbh

So been wanting to try my hand at detailing , saved some cash bought myself so goodies to make a starts and have had a few practise efforts and finally started to get the hang of it (it's not simple haha takes some doing )
Some of the new goodies

Ok so the pics are from the rear quarter of my 106 , it's had a poor respray and getting the paint fully flat is impossible due to the underneath/prep in areas but as anything it can be improved . So

This is a L.E.D light to show you the small scratches/swirls that most cars are covered in

This is after a concentrated stage 2 and stage 1 polish compound as you can see fantastic improvement

This is after a quick full panel sweep over with stage 1 and 2 there has been a massive improvement but as you can see they are still light scratches , so a much more to be done

A much more concentrated in the same area , full stage 2 and 1 and as you can see great results Smile

Great results Smile

Always scared I'm going to go to hard or 'burn' through a layer of paint when I use a machine polisher.

Very wrong! If u try and do it all too quick the results are poor , every panel has to be split into small areas and then carefully done using the correct stages haha that rear quarter isnt done and i was on it over 2hrs

Nah you have to be a prat to burn the paint. Providing you go nice and steady and perhaps read a guide for a few tips before hand, you will be fine!

Is that a crack in the rear wheel arch trim or is it the edge of a chip protector? Looks fantastic man!

So need to update , got the rear windows tinted
[Image: null_zps4f887e63.jpg]
After this i decided to go all out and sort the engine bay as this is how it looked
[Image: null_zpsfd67d312.jpg]

Gave it all a really good clean and polished my rocker covers
[Image: null_zps4381a8f9.jpg]

Then i finally painted my rear bumpstrips gloss black
[Image: null_zps35115ab0.jpg]

New pads and discs for the gti180 brakes
[Image: null_zps31c7dd0f.jpg]

And then had loads of custom covers made and polished , sanded loads of rust out and a quick blow over , tidyied all loose wires with yellow conduit and then themed the car for the french car show
[Image: null_zpseaa0d953.jpg]

I also got the one of a kind custom windscreen sticker made Smile
