#1
hdi wont reech reqired pressure to fire
ive replaced th hp pump with another 330d one put that one on still no diff replaced brown relay new bosch canister/filter im gettin on my snap on modis live data fuel when not cranking is 8/16 bar i thought that should be zero
when crankin it reches 98 bar lp pump new wat else could it be once started with brake cleaner it will tick over for days and rev soon as you put it in gear go relly slow fine soon as it boost up it cuts out any one in somerset that can help pay of course

maybe the fuel pressure sensor is screwy especaly if its not reading zero

but it might read pressure when not cranking as the tank pump would have primed the system!

maybe injectors excesive leakage not letting the pump get to pressure
maybe FPR not seating/lifting controlling the pressure

I'd start with a leak off test and also check/swap for known good the fuel pressure sensor and regulator, as Cully suggests.
Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

The lift pump shouldn't provide more than 3.2bar, if it's showing 8-16 without cranking i'd be inclined to start with the fuel rail pressure sensor. It's also worth checking the connections at the sensor plug, the yellow plug lower down the block and the brown relay, and for continuity between the three.

Not being funny dude, but could you try out some punctuation or something? Just a couple of full stops here and there would help make it easier to read. Smile

Injectors can't stick open on these engines. AMG nozzles aren't great, but they'll do the job, will need to source them from a bosch/diesel specialist.

What pressure does it show when the lp pump is running? And when cranking?

You should have ~3bar with ignition and ~280 while cranking, either the new sensor is dodgy or there's something else going on. You said the sensor wasn't reading before, what did you change for it to start reading pressures?

Sorry if i'm insulting your intelligence here, but have you just bolted amg injectors in and expected it to run..?

But the filter is pre-hp pump, metal filings in there is said to be a sign of the lift pump going, not the hp pump.

If you've opened the filter housing and not flushed out any crap in there before reassembly, then the chances are you've just let all the crap through to the injectors, so that could well be your problem. Or at least that's if i've understood you right, the lack of sentence structure is making it fairly hard to decipher what you're saying.

I can't remember if you had to mod the FPR or the third piston thingy on the 330 pumps but I think the 2.2 pumps are a straight swap.

Have you tried checking the connections suggested? How did you get on with the leak-off test?

The link in my sig might give you some more clues.

surely this is quite a simple problem.

ECU said pressure is low.

either A - RAISE PRESSURE.

or B - REPLACE SENSOR.

is the fpr connected on the HP pump?

Depends how long you want to wait, i've not got much free time until the first week of February lol. Confused

From what you've said about the loom, i reckon it's worth checking out that - just go over anything fuel related and check for continuity.
