Sounds lift pump or fuel pressure regularot related to me.

First check your getting 2 lives to the lift pump under the back seat. If its only 1 then its immobilisre related.
Then check its actually lifting a decent volume of fuel
then take the fuel pressure regulator out the high pressure pump on the engine and clean it.

Also check the in tank pump strainer is clean as is the fuel filter

As above really, i *think* primary refers to the lift pump, but not sure so do some testing first. You can check if the lift pump is running by listening to it as you turn the ignition to pos 2, it'll whine/whirr if it's working. Some more ideas in the guide in my sig.

I'd be inclined to check over the lift pump cradle for any blockages then put some more diesel in just to rule out the obvious.

If you only get one signal to the lift pump it could be the immob signal or the control signal from the brown relay. If you've only got one signal you'll need to identify which, if either, is missing. The brown relay seems to be a fairly common issue, so worth a check imo.

It's worth putting a gallon in the tank and priming it through, just to rule out any possibility of it being empty. I had this happen on mine once, the needle was lifting almost out of the red, but it wasn't enough to start it..
Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Sounds like they're stringing you along tbh, the chances of all that lot going at once are slim to none. More likely they don't know what they're dealing with so are just changing bits to see what happens and charging you for their idiocy. I assume its just a garage rather than a diesel specialist?

No offence, but this is just turning into a typical "modern car diagnosis session" where they havent a clue what the issue is, and there just learning as they go along...sadly you are going to end up paying for all these parts, of which likely only one is faulty.....

But then if it gets you back on the road and it costs less to repair than selling that one as non runner / buying another then its worth it to you, especially as you love the car.

How much are they charging, without being rude heh

What ECU problem are they fixing for free? Confused

Also, you could've done the fuel filter yourself, it's really not hard, and much cheaper than the garage doing it!
