hey guys and girls
my handbrake needs adjusting on my 2000 1.4 306 and was wondering where the adjusting screw/thread was ? had a quick look around the handbrake but couldnt see anything

if discs...only adjustment is behind handbrake inside the car.
13mm deep socket and extension needed.
but need to remove the trim around the handbrake to get to it.
for drums...you first want to slacken off the 13mm adjuster as described above.
Then remove one wheel bolt from each rear wheel.
Jack up the rear and secure vehicle.
with torch look through hole where wheel bolt was and spin wheel till you see a little adjuster cog.
Get someone to push foot brake, then adjust the cog till no gap occurs between cog and adjuster but wheel still turns...a little bit of rubbing/binding is fine.
Cog should only go one way (can return it but its tricky)...so dont go too far
then do same other side
then take out slack in cables with adjuster inside the car
(PS has been covered a lot on this forum...not sure under what heading though)

yes. as described.
But with drums you need to adjust it at the drum first
