IDI needs a good bit of heat every time to get them to fire....
DI gets away with it (but glowplug light shows in low temperature)

Hdi only lights the dash light when it needs extended preheat due to the temperature

You can still use veg. Just needs a bit of petrol to thin it a little.

Really need to sort out my air ingress issues, was 4 degrees here last night and even on 100% crappy soya oil it started first turn, just very lumpy and trying to cut out for the first 5 mins. Think it's the fuel filter housing letting in air, it looks like veg is seeping out of the lid....

Not sure. One of the veg lads will be along to sort you out. But theres loads of information if you search...
Iirc you want about 10% petrol or % 20 diesel (maybe more diesel)

Think i should probably change the glowies on the 205, it's been starting on 2/3 cylinders for the first couple of minutes through summer on straight derv. Don't think it'll manage now the temps dropping, the smoke and misfiring yesterday morning was horrendous lol.

I ran 100% veg last winter and can't see what the fuss is about. It is just as hard to start as it always is Mind you I think my fuel filter was quite blocked up. I always avoid putting petty in because I am always paranoid that it won't mix properly in the tank and then the pump sucks up a big gob of petrol and detonates the engine hock:

Petrol won't detonate the engine.
