Exactly that tbh, then you know it's got another 100k in it, whereas a scrap yard job could be dead again in six months.

Rtha1353566875575677 is having the same problem in my old car and doing a little research I'm seeing the fuel pumps cropping up, be good to see if yours starts once you've changed it but could it not be the ecu??

It could be the ecu, but its very rare for the ecu to just die. Im not even 100% sure it was the ecu at fault when mine wouldnt go, as I changed a couple of things between the ecu and the car running again. Plus its rather expensive to fix and its not something you can check yourself, so makes sense to go through the bits that are cheap/free to check first

got it started yesterday, got a second hand fuel pump and a cam shaft sensor of a 307, changed fuel pump first tried it and wouldn't start, so changed cam shaft sensor and it started straight away. running perfect now. so it could be abit of both that was wrong with.

How much of a job was it to do the cam sensor and the lift pump mate?

Mines stuck in the car park at work and they're starting to get p*ssed off at me because its in the 'car share' bays Dodgy cant they see its French Tongue

Going to try towing it home late at night on Saturday, I'm having the same thing where it turns over strongly (especially after getting the jump leads on it) but just not catching, also getting the dial sweep (first time I've ever seen the fuel gauge at full Big Grin)

After having the leads on it, it did fire for a split second but died instantly, and now its killing the battery with repeatedly trying it and for that reason I don't want to kill the already temperamental starter motor.

There was literally no warning before, sometimes it would just click when turning the key but it would start if you were quick and 'caught' it, but it ran and drove fine. It also just had £15 of derv in the day before so wasn't empty. Came out of work and it was just dead :/

The starter motor does need replacing but am I right in thinking it isnt the cause of this particular issue? As it turns over strongly?

Will check the fuses tonight, really puzzling :S Sorry to hijack thread but it sounds almost the same, but don't want to go buy a new lift pump/sensor etc without knowing first

Is it still worth running diagnostics, as it was mentioned in here that it can bring up random unrelated ones?

Thanks Smile

cam sensor is easy, its beside the oil filler cap, held on by a Torx screw. just go to a scrap yard and get one from a 307 if your a cheap ass like me, peugeot are only about 25 quid id say.
