No it's not. It is from the gti to xsi though.

I thought there was 2 types for the GTi though? 167 and 168 tooth or something along those lines?

There is two types, depends on what rollers are made of, plastic or metal

I think it's the plastic one which the idler has a slightly bigger diameter hence the need for a longer belt

136 tooth for the smaller metal only manually set tensioner.
137 for the larger plastic/metal auto-tensioner.
A lot of people say 136 is the better option because it's metal.
I went for the 137 as it has an auto tensionerit. Just bang an allen key in, turn it round till the marks align, and tighten up (still not easy with the amount of space available though!).
I think the 137 was fitted to later vehicles. Not sure when the changeover was though.

137 was generally fitted to Xsara's from around 2000 or Phase 2, 306's unless very late only had the 136 type, Even the 136 belts come with plastic idler's now unless you find some old stock
