a week in the hot sun while it was parked at the airport carpark and the bird shit looks like its burned through the lacrquer

its all on the bonnet

im going to give it some boiling water to see what drops off

dont intend paying to much on the car as we have some knob going round keying cars again

Should have said you were flying from bristol, I could have dropped you off in your car and left it at mine, then picked you up again, i live 10mins from the airport lol

You might get away with sanding back the laquer then re lacquering it. Might not be perfect after but will look better!

flat back with 1000 grit then blast with halfords lacquer ?

Yep that is exactly what i did with my rear panel between the boot and bumper. Obviously stop as soon as you start getting red on the paper. You will end up with a line around the area where you have flatted back but once you build up a few layers, it will disappear then leave to dry for a few days and flat back and polish.

You'll have a mare lacquering like that. When you flat it back after drying it will just flake at the corners. You would do better re-lacquering the whole panel unfortunately

Oh snap the left hand side of the car was caked in bird crap since I park under a tree washed it off today but seeing that I think I'll make more effort to keep it clean

Think im going to wash the car tomorrow after seeing that! That is so unlucky. Maybe polish/wax may help against further damage or happening again?
