Battery Cable Length
#1
Im being lazy, and CBA to get a bit of sting and work it out. Do any of you lovely lot know how long a cable would need to be to go from alternator to the boot, via the underside of the vehicle?

Much love.

I don't need to know those measurements, just that from the bay to boot. Rest I can just buy by the meter for.

Why not just run the cable straight from the current positive battery clamp (with a proper connector of course). much easier, cheaper and you wont be trying to cram so many cables on the alternator connector which is already pretty tight

Not at all. Sams is only pikey because he has just used a nut and bolt and two BFO washers. You can buy proper clamps to do the job. That will be much better than doing it to the alternator and your also keeping cable length down which you want to do as much as possible.

16mm2 is a bit small, no?

I've used 23mm2 on mine both ways.

4.6 metres BTW, goes through the car.
