XUD9s use DN0SD306 - those are DN0SD299 Nozzles... Break pressures are possibly different to, you wouldn't notice it though... You'd get good gains from just a new set of injectors...

But saying that, my injectors are out of the 182k mile XTDT, and have done easily 30k in my car... And still work and pull fine with no hazing on idle... So frankly... I dunno if there's any point in replacing them unless they're jammed.

Glowplugs, timing?

Usually injectors are if it hazes continually, runs like a sack all the time, misses no matter what you do...

yeah i wasn't really thinking of replacing them but that seems a great price . . . . . .it's probably a glowplug in my case, one is crossthreaded and i couldn't replace it without fear of it snapping . .Smile

If it's missing on one cylinder, then yeah, probably that cylinders glowplug is f*cked... In which case, either drill it out, or just leave it alone and put up with the missing in the morning, maybe give it a bit more static timing... That'll help getting it running on all 4 quicker, and everyone loves a bit of injection clatter on a cold morning, makes you feel like more of a man with what sounds like 4 ball peen hammers smacking the cylinder head for the first 15 minutes in the morning Wink

If you want to check your injector on that cylinder, get out a screwdriver, place it on the injector body and stick it in your ear, if the needle is jamming, then you'll hear it in comparison to the other injectors... If not, then they're probably fine, as I've mentioned, my injectors have probably done over 200k miles, but they're still fine seemingly...

You can just get new nozzles if you want... DN0SD306 Bosch Part No: 0 434 250 167

I think they're on ebay for about £23.50 each... Which does seem expensive, but at least you know they're genuine Bosch nozzles...

Whats the difference from DN0SD299(a-b-c) and DN0SD306 nozzles?

I see that they are both listed for the XUD9 in the 93 to 97 Pug306..
Are the DN0SD306 just updated 299's?

Edit.. Found an Answer, Sorta! http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=84264
Although, does not explain the 299 to 306 difference.
