Anyone changed track/tie rods before?
#1
Tomorrow im chucking my powerflex arms new ball joints pads n discs on but also changing my tie rods and ends as they were an advisory, anyone done it before and got any tips?

Drop the subframe and completely remove the steering rack? For better access?
One boot is held on with a clip the other supposedly has a metal ring pressed into it holding it on the rack, buckle it up and replace with a universal boot or anyone have a tip on removing it the proper way?

All advice welcome :p

Are you sure it's not just the track rod ends that need changing?

You should be able to access the rack from the arches with the wheels off.

Are you changing just the rods or the entire rack?

If you turn the steering to full lock, remove the steering boot, and then you should be able to undo the tie rod with a big pair of mole grips Smile
