Push button start

What's peoples recommendations. Don't want a light up led shingle just a plain or start button will do. Had one in my hdi but it never worked so what setups do people use that work and which wires under the wheel are clipped into? Cheers

Why's that then? Only for bragging rights really and to fill the hole the fav lighter used to be in. Be cool to have a shine silver button

Sam has one in her car. Works fine.

Massive starter motor though.

This is pretty much all you need to know... Why use one hand to start your car when you could use two!

Some pikey wiring led to his cranking itself down the road while he was at work....

Just takes one short to start the car then..... Confused

Up to you obviously, but I can't really see the point myself!

I understand it on my Mums car as she has keyless entry and button start, so keep your keys in your pocket/handbag all the time.

But on a 306 you're still gonna need to unlock the door, and put the key in the ignition so it seems like more effort to me. Undecided

Bear in mind as well that this will invalidate your insurance if it ever gets nicked

Quote:More than likely the start button that did this.

I think because of the heat, some of my insulator tape warmed up and came loose, shorting the wires, causing it to crank.

With hindsight, i should have wired the crank button into switch live. But it was 1am when i wired it up.

Itll be fine as long as you dont wire it to a live and insulate it properly. I wouldnt particularly bother. The way they do it in mighty mods is the way it should be done so you have to turn the key and then press the button. That shouldnt invalidate your insurance either as you still need the key!

Aslong as the immobiliser is still present, and you have a battery isolator switch it should be fine. Same concept as using the ignition barrel then. Worth running it by your insurance however.
