I've had mine 13 years now and I'm only just starting to fall out of love with it, not bad going really.

I wonder how much of my life I've spent driving and servicing it considering the amount of mile I've done in it.

I think that tops anyone on here by a large margin. Owned from new by any chance? What changes have you noticed about it over the years? Should be quite interesting.

Yeah I had it from new and have done over 300k miles in it. The one thing I've noticed is the movement in the suspension, even though I've kept up with changing bushes and dampers there still seems to be a bit more movement than I'd like unlike the early years. I think I might need to change the springs?

Engine wise It starts like it was new but it has lost a bit of it's poke. I've noticed on PP that the HP pump is struggling on hard acceleration but I got one to replace it. Once I do I'm going to get it stage 1 tuned and I hope once that's done I'll fall in love with it again.

Thats really quite impressive tbh.

Awaits tom to come along and say that HDis are shit in every way imaginable and that you must be lying because a HDi would never do 300k because tom bought a shit one.

1.8 XS had for almost 2 years
2.0 GTi6 had for almost 5 minutes before I introduced it to the armco
1.8 Cabriolet kept for just over a year
2.0 HDi had since last August now...

Owned plenty of cars in-between but nothing comes close to the 'character' the 306 has. People tilt their head and look at me funny when I say that too. It's better than a Focus, honest!!
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

Lol, I have indeed seen the car, and it's in MUCH better condition than the majority I'vee seen with only a third of the milage!

As I've said before though Niall - it's the previous owners that ruin 306s, they don't just spontaneous break (well mine do but most don't lol) - and Dee's hasn't had any previous owners. Wink
