All my friends and family tell me to buy a new car.

I earn okay money, about 35k, but there is no car that i could get for under 10k that drives as well, and is as cheap to run as my daily.

So.so.so much to choose from.

Mitsubishi evo, either a mint 5/6 or a average 8/9

Or a properly well looked after skyline or supra.

But I would get killed on insurance...

......so I bought a golf.
On the 306 waiting list.

Good point Devils_fuel! Is this a sign of things to come? Scott is getting bored of the 306 so will be spending 8k on a 3 series with x5 alloys?

So is this the next thing that forum donations are going towards then Scott? lol

In all seriousness, (i know i'm gonna get slated for this) i'd get myself a mint example of a classic shape Impreza, maybe even a p1. Wanted one since i was a small boy, seeing Colin McRae thrashing one round numerous different WRC stages.

Completely agree.

To elaborate, imo, IF you're looking for something a bit more grown up, more economical, newer and with relatively low miles, that also handles in a similar way to a 306 (lets be honest that's a significant factor in why we all have these cars), with a nice tunable engine that will have a good second hand resale value in a few years' time, it's a VERY attractive choice.

As I said before, depends entirely what you want from the new car.
