If you don't need to re use them just pull them.

If you do, I think it's pull up and slide forward.

Give me a few minutes and I will look on my new shell there are still bump strips lying around the car.

I've never slid mine any direction
I carefully pry them off
Usually I wedge something in underneath and pull off :-)

Safest way to not damage them is to remove the door cars and squeeze the clips from behind starting at the back and working forwards so that you release the front clip last as its a different style of hook and always breaks.

I'm planning on doing this mammoth mod on Sunday... I've been putting it off becuase I'm scared of destroying my car.

I will most likely need more clips... What are these clips called?

It would be wise to have a few clips spare yes.

8565 40 is the part number and they are 20p inc VAT each, there's about 18 each side so you need 36 (£7.20 before discount).

Or go to the local scrap yard and take them off other 306s.

Why are you taking them off?

I've got some colour coded rub strips that I'm going to change for the black ones.

What are you up to on Sunday? If you're about you should pop over for some lunch. We are planning on having a car day!

You can buy the clips on ebay iirc for alot less, I bought a bag of 100 of these once as they always friggin break, only cost like 10 quid for 100 at the time.

As Dum Dum said they slide, if you just pull, you will break the clips, and if unlucky break some of the mounts on the strips themselves, often the front clips are reverse so it cant fall off, i normally just pull that one and replace it, and then should slide off not breaking a single one...In theory....lol!

It's a bastard to do without damaging the strips IMO.

Replaced the strips down the passenger side of mine recently, the little piece on the front wing is fragile. Mine broke off at the mount, and needed sooooopa gluing back on. The little white clips you may as well write-off now, they are probably all brittle now and will stand a very high chance of getting f*cked when you try to remove them...
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

Yes, I fooking love the countryside. Although I wish someone would come and steal the scrap shell out my car park as cutting it up has caused me enough injuries as it is.
