I don't want to go into too much detail in case I've cocked something up and it doesn't fit or something stupid Big Grin

However, it's much lighter than the original beam, and is adjustable for track width, wheelbase, camber and toe. And a feckload cheaper and easier to change bearings on.

That and the omp top one has made such a difference don't bother with the E tech top brace as its made of cheese ha ha, powering hard out of the lower gear corners having the bottom one has virtually eliminated the inside wheel lighting up, feels so much more sure footed, big up to ripp for it from me
got to agree with jonny, my dturbo felt loads more planted into corners and out was awesome just waiting on pay day to get one for my gti now,

That's a 206 trailing arm stabiliser. Apparently works very well so if something similar could be done with the 306 beam, would be good!

lmfao @ grant.

You won't need solid mounts with the new one, whole thing just bolts up to chassis.

I thought you were taking the piss to start with!

But if not....

Just think a minute about what that brace is doing....

Hitting the exhaust when the suspension pivots?

Reducing stress on bearings and pins?

Adding weight?

Reducing cornering stress on the beam?

None of the above? lol

How about bending like a fkn bannana when one side goes up compared to the other because they've fastened it to the damper mounts?

Oh, and undoing the nut on the dampers at the same time.

Surely there is some level of flex/stress on the trailing arms when cornering hard however?

Does the 206gti brace not aid in reducing this?

It does, but it's a bit of a patchwork fix as it depends on the compliance in the bushes to stop it binding the rear suspension solid (as the pivot point isn't on the same axis as the rest of the beam.)
