trying to decide whether to go for 185/45/15 or 195/45/15 on my new wheels.

I want some stretch and I think i will need quite a bit to help getting them on being et-12

Daves 306, Pretty sure theyre 185/45 on an 8x15 rim..Looks bang on and no kittens or nuns have died as a result Smile Got 195/50's on 8.5x15 rims on the van and they look like balloons in comparison!

Cheers mate, nankangs are the only 185's I can get, whereas 195 offers more range

Ive got 8j -20 et with 185/45 on the rear 195/45 on the front. Will grab some pics tomorrow. 185 looks good if you want stretch but i dont want to have to run cheap narrow tyres where i dont have to so ive still got my 195s up front.

id personaly go for a minimum of 195.

A. because 185 just dont have enough contact area with the road

B. becuse nagkangs are like plastic and dont grip. it will wreck the drivablitybof the car

depends what you want to spend. im guessing yoy want somthing mid range. and value for money. yokaharma spec2s or toyo proxy's 195/50/15 will give you a really good amount of grip for the money you are spending

(toyo T1R's)

EBAY : spec2's £192 for 4
toyo T1R's £165 for 4

i personaly run T1R's on my 6 and they are epic compared to what eles you can buy in the price range. side walls are abit softer than id like but with you running strech this shouldnt be an issue

What confuses me is that daves 195's look pretty stretched, whereas pe02's fronts don't look that stretched

That's a good comparison cheers. I think there is quite the difference. But will I get 195's below the rear arches at et -12

i struggled with 185 you can see above how much the top is out compared to the bottom. i did post pics in another thread of the arch work i had to have done.
