11mm pump character?!
#31
righto....yupo....

The torx bit (external) I have tried wound quite well in, and quite far out...without much difference to the fueling/boost

...so I am thinking its the cog internally...just checking everyone else is talking about internally as I have tried the external torx

I would say from looking at the unmolested 9mm I have for sale, that the torx is out (on the 11mm) by 4/5 turns, not as much as I had on the 9mm before I broke it

LDA wound right out....

no change?!

Its just completely gutless below 2250/2500rpm....dead....then boom! power!

If I absolutely floor it I get a bit of power....then of course huge spike of power but anything up to 80% throttle at or below 2000rpm makes the car do almost nothing, if not slow down!

grrrrrr

yeah but at least you CAN drive it off vtec....any gradient above flat and it slows at 2000rpm

Sounds like something to do with your LDA setup, seriously...

Definitly LDA id say, once thst torx is wound out on top of ufo you wont ever need to touch that and then its all adjustments with pin and star wheel inside LDA housing, getting the right setting can take much adjustment, i had a problem where the power curve on dyno would drop mid revs and was a default with a custom pin getting stuck because it wasnt hardened enough changed to ground stock pin and solved problem its suprising how much the LDA can affect setup, there are more mods pump relating to LDA

took it apart this evening...

Its quite well ground back...got a pic but cant upload from me phone...
the plastic collar has been removed too.

and based on my standard 9mm pump the cog had been turned anticlockwise about a whole turn.

so I have wound it in again a turn...guna go out in a mo to try it...

Im just wondering if its a duff pump...I hope not Confused

Really does sound like the LDA adjustment is to blame. Get your head around what it does and how it operates before you modify it, preferably starting with near stock settings if you can. Then start off with small adjustments, get used to how it affects the drive. Then you'll be able to fine tune it.

Noo shudnt be a duff pump its delivering fuel, ive not got my 11mm built yet as taking time and researching and discussing all possible mods before i put it on and even got local derv specialist helping me and throwing it on the tester before i put it on but would imagine they are a tad different setup wise as the delivery is much more

I was even thinking of putting a standard LDA pin in at stock settings....see how its drives then.

Do it, it's gonna give you a better idea of what's going on, as a start point at least.

Ok...had a fiddle with the internal cog...

wow...I appreciate throttle response like never before...got me low down grunt back...its lost its big thump of power but I think that maybe just because its smoother now....

next task is to work out why its only boosting 18psi still....and yet if I up the max fuel the idle revs increase...which I was under the impression ment max has been met?!

You have wound out the idle screw all the way, yes?

And the governor etc has been reassembled correctly, yes?

duno about gov as I didnt build it....the mod works as it revs its nuts off now....surprised me.

I had same thought about idle screw...if you mean on throttle arm...but its chucking it down here so just ran and got meself dry

will try it though...wind it back

the hot/cold idle swivel arm on the back seems to do sod all though...if thats what you mean

going to have a nother fiddle today...

I am getting bit coaling off boost now...bit too much and not enough as boost building, so need to adjust that cog again.

But my real mystery is thats its only boosting to 18psi...20psi at like 4500 in 4th.

Yet on the 9mm pump, with almost none to little puff of coal, it will spool to 22-24psi really quickly from very low down...hmmm
