Inlet Issue
#1
Im a bit stumped Huh

Changed over my XSI inlet for the GTi one yesterday, everything matches up nicely, fits well, everything plugged in fine. Started it up and it runs like a sack of shit and will not idle. Its missing on a cylinder (unsure which yet) and if you let off the throttle it will pre-det for a few seconds and stall.

I think I've nicked an injector cable somewhere Huh

Anyone got any ideas?

Mine had Similar symptoms too yours. It's all sealing right? What condition the injectors in?

Also whip the sensors out and give a clean. Guessing its the same manifold for the 1.8? Could be we're it was stood things have got a little dry?

Fair play, ill try the battery off for a little longer. The map sensor was the existing one, other than that they're all from the 1.8. Ill give them a clean. Cheers bro

Try using all the xsi sensors? Different management so might be different resistance values, so the ecu might be getting the wrong info

Try unplugging some sensors. They should run on default values. If the way the car runs without one of the sensors its probably down to that.

I had serious fluctuations with mine and it turned out to be the MAP sensor. The one on the front right of the manifold? Resulted in stalling at idle and about 10MPG! When i put my foot down in the 1.8 it was like driving a dturbo! Put a sheet of paper infront of the exhaust and it was just dripping with fuel after about 10 seconds Sad

Unplugged the battery for an hour and a half, no difference.

Ill try swapping the sensors. The map is the original one anyway, and sam, yeah theres loads of fuel spitting out the zorst. Ill swap them over and come back hopefully with some good news Smile

Right, put the original inlet back on:

-Fuel is coming from all 4 injectors, so i no longer believe i have nicked an injector wire somewhere.
-It still wouldn't run until I unplugged all of the manifold sensors. It then ran at 3k
-Systematically plugged them all back in, it then only dropped and stalled when the TPS was plugged back in.
-This TPS was working fine before removal, so whats the odds of both this one, and the one on the '6 mani being the issue?

Swap all the Injectors, Map sensor over onto the GTi 6 inlet, Inc Idle valve

Didnt even remove the xsi rail, all got put onto the '6 manifold.

I think I've nailed it to a fubar'd TPS and a vacuum problem as the brake pedal is stiffer than Margeret Thatcher's Nipples on a cold day.

This is doing my nut in now lol

Ive swapped every sensor from the original inlet, no luck.

Put sensors from GTI inlet on standard mani and it runs fine.

Dafuq?! Maybe the gods of the 306 are telling me not to fit it...
