Crank sensor defiantly connected? Only one that would really affect starting after clutch change

When you switch the key to postition 2, can you hear the fuel pump under the back seats priming?

this was the next thing i was going to suggest Smile

Also, the crank shaft sensor is on top of the gearbox directly under the thermostat housing with a wire coming off of it about 10cm long with a brown plug on the end of it. If its not plugged in, it wont start.

i would suggest double checking that both the green and yellow earth and the black earth are bolted cleanly and tightly to the box.

You're missing an earth here for sure.

IIRC doesn't the EML come on until a successful start, then extinguish?

Was about to suggest this as its exactly what happened with mine when I did a clutch change :-( ended up bypassing it...was becoming a pain when friends decide to bang it so it wouldn't start :-(
