new hdi
#1
hi all,
thought id get on here and have a look about. i used to have a phase 2 xsi but the fuel eating got to me a bit so found a mint phase 3 hdi for £400 with a full mot and tax and 118000. its diablo and 5 door with a sexy tow hook Confused got a genuine pug roof rack coming for the kayak and boards Cool

im planning on dropping it and giving it some new shoes first. any ideas? i quite fancy lenso bsx (gold) but may be persuaded by some genuine pug wheels to avoid insurance changes.

are the challengers a good fit? any other ideas?

no idea how to drop the back either. anyone got a lowered beam for sale?

cheers

welcome along mate, challengers are a good fit. but u will need hub-centric spacers on the rear, 20mm will do nicely.

Welcome along,

my mrs gets 140miles to £25 in her xsi, fuel really isnt that bad, try running a gti6 lol

But yeah please dont put the lenso's on it they are such a cheap crappy rep of the bbs RS's if you want a euroish look look into somthing different Big Grin challengers are the wrong offset, You WILL NEED spacers on the rear for them to fit, the fronts you can get away with None on the front, but idealy you want 20mm on the rear and 15mm on the front otherwise the front looks shite as its sat to far into the arch Big Grin hope that helps.

Also i think banded steels would look good on yours Big Grin

Somthing like this,

cheers, that was my downside to the lensos. i used to have a mk1 caddy running bbs rs rather expensive!!! i was just looking at the build thread with the banded steels! look sweet. would look good as the car will be a daily/surf car. i only want to run a 40mm drop though.

my xsi was running a max of 20mpg. need a diesel for the long cornwall runs Big Grin

any other good tweeks i need to be thinking of?

Stage 1 remap , decat, deback box, K&N style panel filter. it will fly compared to standerd

Also if your only going 40 mm lenzo will look uber shit. need to get mega low to pull off RS reps

does the stage one and decat etc really make that much difference? i was planning on getting a hdi tuning map and getting KrisB to put it on for me when i take it to get lowered.

what easy fitting wheels are there that will look good with a 40mm drop?
