Bedding in an engine

Just looking to see what peoples opinions are on this

The new engine i bought is on 120k, good service history with it etc, but its been drove by an old man for the last 5 or so years. I've seen the car about and i dont think its ever been rev'd over 2500 or been over 50mph in that time

ive been told by quite a few folk, and i know you do it on petrols. But is it worth driving it easy for the first couple weeks or so, slowly driving it harder so it doesnt break piston rings etc?

you only need to bed in a brand new engine. aslong as your not doing silly revs from cold you should be fine.

120k is just about run in for an xud and if its had an easy life with the previous owner it all the better for you

aye, its just on petrols they can be prone to breaking pistons rings, drive her easy before i stick the 11mm pump n through 6k at her

been serviced by a local mechainc, every 5-6k, its easy life is over id say though

the mbc will be going onto it before the engine goes in but, to awkward to get at when its on
