Niall Wrote:Right I'm going to try and get a fire extinguisher from work, empty it, put a valve in the side and charge it through that. Job done.
no need if its foam
the valve is 1/4bsp so open the handle, put the pin back in, in the open position, tiewrap and but the rest of the handle off.
job done

Doubt I will get a foam one. Only want a small 6l. Mind you there dirt cheap on eBay anyway. All I was going to do is get a tyre valve put in the side so I can charge it with a tyre pump Smile

the foam one i got IS 6l
and all i did was cut the pipe, fit a 1/4bsp nipple and plumb in into the check valve, then fitted a pipe to the pressure gauge and fitted it up front so i can see what is in the tank.

that was i was looking for,
then it clicked,
they are filled to 10.5bar+ (150psi+)
plenty enough to hold a few psi of a small compresser
i want a airbag compressor, that would be alot better

i only charge to 60psi cos dont wanna fry the lil compressor, the last one died at 80psi then melted the piston,
but ive fitted 2 fans to the current one.

and 6l will run the horn continuis for 90 second maybe longer

Right just found a horn. I will have trouble positioning it seeing as its almost 40cm long. The good news is its almost 160dB. Just waiting to find out the pressure and cfm it needs and if suitable, I will order it.

For a while I didnt have a compressor I would just pump it up through a bike valve jubileed in the end of a pipe, and it would last for weeks without charging, and eventually seep the air out... I run mine at 160psi, its REALLY f*cking loud up there.... compared to like 60-80psi, which is just meh... its the difference between T2 at 12psi and a T25 dewastegated 11mm Wink

Hmm. From watching the videos in the OP I think mine has dual horns already. It even sounds like there are two of them going when I hold it down for a few seconds (have to do that with all the wankers in Range Rovers pulling out on roundabouts).

Ah well. I'll have to think of something else to do to kill some time now.

I put a ford mondeo horn on mine, had to changew the connections over and make a new bracket to keep it in the 'standard' place! Sounds manly! Makes me happy when i use it in anger!

Hm wonder how I'm gonna connect my 110 db aaaoooga horn, connections don't look compatible! Will have to take plug off and connect up with spade connectors. What's this about needing a relay to make it work?

If it draws too much power on small wires then it will melt them. Youll need a relay to get around this. Its basic electronics...
