Didnt know where to put this but...
On another forum i used to be on there was a sticky thread about exhaust sound for people looking to choose a system for there car, the main object is to record a vid or noise clip of your exhaust sound then post it up with details of engine, exhaust make, de cat, straight through ect ect
(Admin please feel free to move/remove this if you choose)

nope i have got straight through front too back no back box but i wont one as its really loud on boost

When I took it off the road for winter I swapped a decat pipe on it to see how it sounded; these are videos with the decat pipe and a standard mid & backbox. Obviously I'll be taking it straight off before going back on the public roads...

This was last year and at the time it was just a standard GTi-6 manifold and cat, and then a Magnex System from the Cat back.

Had a sports cat fitted since then, it's a little bit louder but not by much, nothing you'd be able to tell in a video. It's at 110db at 4000rpm.
I really wish i'd have got a video from when my exhaut snapped after the cat. Was like it for a week and would set car alarms off on my way home from work at about 2:00am just from coasting past on tick over trying (failing) to be as quiet as possible 
Was good fun though, sounded like a rally spec car, I quite liked it... Not too sure on my neighbours opinions though...

I tell a lie, I have found the video I took from when the exhaust snapped.
Not the most interesting video, more an audio track...
Bare in mind that this was taken with all the windows closed, and the faint music that you can hear in the background was actually on full blast
I guess this is what the car would sound like with a de-cat and a straight through...

i want to make my car sound a little better, ive only got a back box on a standard system... is it worth buying a cat back system to go in between the cat and back box, with a small silencer, or having the standard silencer cut out and having a tube welded in place?
