Pikey decat

Since the local exhaust/garages places round here charge anywhere from £30-60 for welding up the cat was wondering if I could pikey the job and just coat the area in holts gun gum exhaust paste kinda thing
In my mind it could work real well and save me a couple of £££ but could the exhaust just blow it all off again.

Permission to shoot me down if it just a stupid idea

As long as you use the gun gum bandage over the top it as well should be fine for a long while mate

NOOOO!! I tried this on my old Corsa.. Was the worst thing i ever did.. Never sealed properly, and was under it all the time trying to seal it up... I really wished i never did it and got it done properly.. Well not worth the hassle!!!

i just had to refit Miss P's exhaust and after an expensive trip down halFRAUDs and B&Q I think I've got it sorted.... (famous last words)

Used some flexible but thick wire from B&Q to hold the weight of the exhaust off the old tired rubber hangers, some of their liquid metal (in a tube-thingy for the gun-thingy-you-use-for-silicon) plastered EVERYWHERE, a shitty chrome tailpipe-dressing-thingy to act as a sleeve for strength, lots and lots of the good-ol' GumGum paste stuff, and to finish it off some old exhaust wrap I found laying in the back of the tool cupboard...

Overkill I hear you say? haha, I give it a week or so.... better off spending your money to buy a friend of a friend who can weld, a few drinks for the work

Agreed Mine lasted about 2 days before it started blowing holes in the gum gum lol

Well Im glad im not the only one who thought of the idea, am sad though it doesn't work. I guess welders would be out of a job if it did

proper HDi decat is only £50 delivered off eBay mate, search online-autosport

got an offer to have a straight bit o pipe there instead for about £20 but just thought it would be better for next mot if the box is still there ?
