Who was there in the end? Couldn’t find a stand but was watching a black gti and a moonstone gti with a red cage going well on track

On the stand were Cully, his wife, Cho99er5000 and me. Cho99er (Michael) took his HDi out on track - it's dark blue. We saw the black n moonstone gti's too ....they did some good laps.

As you'll know there was a fair degree of mayhem tho n one big crash.  Took a few pics n will try to do a little write up in a day or two.

Sorry our paths didn't cross.

It was really busy as expected going of how pushy Castle Combe Was acting months before regarding tickets. I was under the impression all clubs where limited to 5 cars so I was quite supposed to hear that the club that won best club had 31 cars. The green escort van (cosworth powered)won best in show. It appears that every morning track session had at least 1 red flag so with all the delays I didn’t get on track until 12:30 I was queuing since 10:30. I did enjoy my session even though it did get red flagged I was let back on. I didn’t really get to catch up any of you Sorry David I couldn’t find you. Did see your car on show and shine looking great. All in all a good day.[Image: b5be1a1b6b174ad969dfca51edd806d4.jpg][Image: ed10eb5cf1d855e1722c84d249ae651c.jpg][Image: ced9516e548013cfc60dfe8d746210dc.jpg][Image: 731658480d0a5047acf172ea79aacf31.jpg][Image: 6024d57c9eb97654c618a28f1c0a63ad.jpg][Image: d4681f1a6d778c922616670880da4e5c.jpg][Image: 7587ce07ce7af5be3d9cf2a27778822c.jpg][Image: c411df5216dea86b82ff622e1a10ea26.jpg][Image: 608346cc38b84b36435f995c3666a288.jpg][Image: 61540c393d271a6e6b552413ac3c009c.jpg][Image: b9085f715ce7023bcfc629ed41a095e6.jpg][Image: e5056470bc021459d8a1fd448ba7dac7.jpg][Image: f2550321dcebee44ff0a0220087626e5.jpg][Image: f520ec98828678f2c1d203774e2e6d2d.jpg][Image: c8453221eb2dede2f372a461f86b5ca1.jpg][Image: 9734056028d0b155574b864a5e00974d.jpg][Image: 13d260128d5256b4f6e4f9d159ccb179.jpg][Image: 07f2014433cc7bf114d05383f370c296.jpg][Image: 8fbd754fc7f0090e622fca57e9870ff5.jpg][Image: 8770fb180d7f99e20be6082631b38bce.jpg][Image: 4c668e22684e2772ca9c89da907bdcfe.jpg][Image: b3bc9b89392f6d147533579a0fd511fa.jpg][Image: c1610bd7dafe7b77be97a650a6898928.jpg][Image: 67631826f6096411a5fefc230ff144d2.jpg][Image: 0545c127f91e66dd6f971990568afcc8.jpg][Image: ac5e4633363337502529827e6476b699.jpg][Image: 0c3ed42506a63abe4f3b36c0557a763f.jpg][Image: 24a00ae436f04b7474c6e735839e569b.jpg][Image: c8e5f520d88fb9037ad752c9d49b21d2.jpg][Image: 9557dc1049818fcbef95b485fba6b891.jpg]

Good update Chopper!  Sorry we didn't see more of you.  I had a very sociable time hanging out with Cully & his wife.  After you headed off to queue up for your track session we had a fry-up & then headed over near Quarry.  I came back to the car at about 2:30 I think but by then you'd parked up & probably headed off to explore.

You took loads more photos than I did.  I chatted to the bloke who had the 306 modded to look like an army vehicle.  Nice bloke - he did it after his wife challenged him!  It's powered by a boosted 1.9 d-turbo that smokes like a Victorian factory!!!  He didn't stop at the exterior.  I got this snap of the interior ....just mad!!

The reason you were so delayed was that a Scooby (I think) managed to leave the track just before Tower corner.  It hit the tire wall, took off and hit the Marshall's post backwards, nearly destroying it.  The far steel upright for the protective wire mesh was significantly bent over had sheared off at the weld with the horizontal.

We watched them make temporary repairs to the barrier, but as Cully will attest too, the results weren't very impressive.  It's just a god job another vehicle didn't go in to it.

Like you said, pretty much every session was red flagged and we heard them pleading with people over the tannoy to drive to the conditions.  We saw lots of near misses!

We saw you out on track.  Here's a little sequence of you passing through The Esses.

Despite the weather, mud and interruptions to the sessions it was very entertaining watching them.

Like I said, I didn't take very photos.  This did catch my attention though ....

Oh, and your car....fair play to you mate, you've made it / kept it looking sooo nice.

Good stuff guys. Glad to see you made it there and found the "stand". Not all clubs are limited to 5 but i initially booked 5 because that was a number off the top of my head. I was told it doesnt matter how many cars its first come first served with location. Clearly not as we were still over in the usual spot!

Thanks for pics David I saw that mini Myself it’s running a Honda b16 engine. I heard about the Subaru I was in pit lane waiting for me session 1 of the southern Subaru members told me. he’s club had entire season to they selves there were waiting as well.

When I was getting noise checked they asked me for 4000rpm I said are you sure it’s diesel the look on his face in soprice and said O ok ..... 2500rpm then. It came at 88db as I was leaving he said that’s the quality running diesel he’s ever heard.
