i know we have a few computer geeks on here so hoping to get some help
Have finally had enough of my faulty Homehub 5 which BT refuse to replace so have just bought a Netgear D7000. All works brilliantly and so much quicker than the wanky BT kit except for one issue.
On the old set up I have a switch under my TV with about 5 devices connected running back to the router. On the new router it will not see any of these devices. If I remove the cable between the router and switch and plug it into one device it sees it fine but will not see anything through the switch. Any ideas?
Thanks all!

Is it a switch or is it a hub?

Be aware that if you dont use the BT provided kit they will always say that its your kit thats the problem and not the line. They will then have to send a "specialist" team to sort it out and will charge you extra if they have to do anything with your device. :/

The fault with the internet is now cured with the new router. I have just moved over to EE seeing as it's half the price of BT and the same service effectively but their router is shite. That will be active from the end of the month.
The issue is with the router recognising the devices connected to the switch. The reason the router was replaced was because it constantly dropped connection and needed powering down. Apparently this is normal according to BTs tech support....

Honestly it should just work, if the obvious power cycling does nothing.. does the switch have a config page accessible via browser etc..?

The switch is non managed. Only a cheapy one so no setup options.
To be fair, I haven't powered down the switch. I'll give that a go and see how we get on.

I'd certainly give that a go, also attempt swapping over ethernet cables if you have some spare.. unlikely but worth a shot. If all that fails, switch could be caput and it's just a coincidence

All sorted. Powering down the switch and back up again solved it.
I should of known to try turning it off first
