Gearbox earth connection part FIXED

I have just looked on my 306 hdi which is having electrical problems with the fans, temp reading and fuel pump.

The Gearbox earth connection part of the wire say half copper part frayed away so could this be causing the problem?

It's not great, but mine was like that too, probably common fault due to how it's crimped+ installed

So what problems did you have with yours?

Did that fix the problem in the end?

No problems, it's always run fine, when I had the engine out I made a repair to it, no running differences

It could make a difference yes. I would cut it off and crimp on (fill with solder as well) a new terminal.

Edit - Nvm, thinking of the wrong end.

ours was a bit like that until i repaired it, checked all other under bonnets earths and fitted " extra earth lead" from earth terminal on battery to nearest strut mount bolt, so extra earth from battery to car body, it was suggested on here so did it.

mine was like that and the stop light was coming on and it was sparking against the gearbox, not good.
