Cut a long story short, i crashed into the back of a 14 plate discovery with a massive towbar on yesterday morning!
Insurance is sorting it at a garage of my choosing, Already admitted liability as i don't want the hassle of waiting and having the car shipped off somewhere out of my reach and thankfully its not a write off
Unfortunately what with the time of year i doubt i'll have it back untill new year so bought a £150 audi A4 tdi estate to run about in till its fixed
Piccys!
Damage solely from the towbar on the disco:
And the mystical £150 shed to run about in
Main thing is im all ok and the cars repairable. Mostly gutted about losing my no claims! also this is the first incident i have had in 7 years of driving so actually shook me up quite a bit. Also my insurance excess is gonna munch into the 106 turbo build fund luckily i had just made a purchase for that which i will update now

Towbars have to be solid, they don't 'crumple' like cars do!
That Audi looks a shed, I was wondering how you managed to get one for £150...then saw the pic...
Must be gutting though, glad you seem to have it all under control and getting sorted though.

Is anything actually wrong with the audi other than a flat tyre?
Saw the accident on FB, not good! Main thing is you're okay.

I probably wouldn't remap it if it needs a clutch lol... DMF is probably due as well.
But at just £45 for a map, it's worth doing anyway lol.

To be fair, even if you gave it a new clutch and a door mechanism or whatever the problem is when you pull the doorcard off it'd then be a very cheap, working daily hack.

well, there's no chassis/body damage, and guessing you're handy with the spanners, you'll save the £750 immediately.

The bumper alone costs more than my excess. no way i could do it without selling a kidney on the black market unfortunately.
If they write it off i know i'll never find another DCi the spec of this one so would have to downgrade too an R26.
