lol

yep, its a fair difference in surface area.

iirc its 2.8 vs 3.2 cm2 so about 20%.
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.

Unfortunately they will i think Sad

Just to say, these callipers can be a bit of a bastard to rebuild (mostly the handbrake mech) but its well worth doing even if you think that yours feel fine. Believe me you will notice the difference on refurbed callipers. Well worth the price these considering the hard parts done for you

They were an absolute arse to do, I spent a stupid amount of time swearing at them, utter pig - and I made myself a tool for compressing the concentric washers and everything.

gti-6 had 32mm, others had 30mm - although think a lot of the later 306 ran 32mm as per usual pug parts bin special

I ran these unintentionally as a pair and didn't notice a difference BUT they weren't in the greatest condition before I refurbed them, passed mot brake balance ..etc Lets face it they don't do an awful lot on the back as it is. Not by any means recommending it though.

Right hand is 30mm Left hand is 32mm

yep, its a fair difference in surface area.

iirc its 2.8 vs 3.2 cm2 so about 20%.

area of piston contact to pad face is same on each

area of 30mm vs 32mm is approx 700m2 vs 800m2 so about 12.5%

Not sure how this works as we're moving volume of cylinder, only by a fraction though. So you could factor that in too, although say the pistons move by 1mm then its just a factor of x1.

tldr - calipers still for sale

Is there any visible difference other than measuring piston? I always thought they were all the same on 306s, have swapped a few singly without measuring. Confused

306's used 30 and 32mm, typically 32mm on sport 3 chassis, zx mainly used 30mm, as did 205 309 and zx, 106 also, gti 180 used 32mm.

clio's used 28 and 30mm.

Learnt something there then! Is the size stamped on the caliper or is it just a case of measuring?

They look the same to me, piston size isn't stamped on casting

Even the piston above the rubber boot is 30mm on both

You need to lift off the rubber cover and measure!
