Rear drilled and grooved discs - opinions

Seen these rear discs drilled and grooved not sure on their quality, has anyone got any experience with these? They seem pretty cheap for what they are. Any other recommendations on rear discs? Thanks

Drilled and grooved are a complete waste of time imho, unless you are cooking them on track and even then I wouldn't bother. Get some pagid discs and pads, if you can fault them I'll be very surprised

It says these are priced per disc? Are they actually or do they come in pairs? I swear previously Ive bought them and they came in pairs...

Nope, it's per disc. Also agree that these are basically a waste of time.. make a load of noise under hard breaking too. I've had them crack too which isn't great..

grooved not so bad...drilled avoid like the plague.

Plus, I would be VERY surprised if you ever needed them on the rear!

Ive just bought drilled and grooved all round. Ive had them previously but only dimpled and grooved. Want to make up my own mind!

avoid drilled! and pagid for that matter cheapy made and cant with stand much. You can buy brembo rear discs for £20 a pair.

Now the question is on the front, drilled, grooved? Any recommendations as well? Are the discs and calipers off the gti6 a straight swap? And what's the minimum wheels they can take without grinding?

gti6 cllipers and discs which are 283s will fit under 15" cyclones no problem. THey wont fit under all 15" though.

Personally I'd avoid drilled discs I've cracked a few sets, I now personally run Brembo Max discs and brembo pads.

Brembo standards or Peugeot oe are about the same price

Seen these gti6 calipers that have been refurbed, in the same town as me which is handy! Just wanted to know what else is needed for them to be bolted on and ready to go, i think I need the carriers but anything else?

Next is to sort pads read bad reviews about ebc, heard pagid and brembo are decent and ferodo ds2500 are good but expensive. I guess you get what you pay for any other recommendations on pads?

If you like them I have some yellow stuffs for sale on eBay. Otherwise DS2500 for a road car, although original Peugeot aren't bad at all for road - not far off the 2500s.

I think you've everything but the lines. No idea if your current ones work

Ive got Brembo front pads and really can't fault them. Im pretty much tied to Hispec rotors but they are only grooved and I've never had any issues neither has anyone else I've seen with the Pendulum RS kits.

There have been issues with the hispec discs wearing badly and turning into Pringles on hard track use.
A lot depends on the pads, they don't stand up well to the better ones.

Yeah the ones that came with my brakes were like that. Ended up buying new rotors in the end and still have a slight wobble i need to look at today.

i alway use OE discs and uprated pads, 1144s are good if you dont want to stump up the cash for ds2500 and ive heard nothing but good things about carbon lorraine stuff.
ive tried the EBC stuff but never really got on with them, the green stuff are absolutely useless

283mm discs are noticably heavier than 266mm, which is plenty for road use ... and if you want more, theres always 4 pots i love my hispecs

Don't use RC6 as they kill discs and leave metal bits in your paint

Our engineer in work is looking over mine. Not 100% the discs are mounted straight. Bells seem ok.
These are very nearly new as well. Careful buying new discs as Ash made at least two different bells.

Could be that they are fixed rather than semi floating that's causing it

I've warped mintex discs quite quickly a couple of times now. Got my set of grooved EBCs and havent had any issues with them. Pagid stuff was alright as I recall but dont think i ever took it on track

I took pagid discs on track front and rear and never had any problems, was using a set of cheap Mintex pads from ebay not the 1144s

Pretty sure 1.4s are 247mm and 1.8s are 266mm so wont fit

Ive cured it. Whipped the rotors and bells off and the hub face was quite rusty. Cleaned that and the inside of the bell up lightly with some sand paper and put it all back together. Spot on now!
