that scrappage scheme has a hell of a lot to answer for! A lot of decent cars were binned well before their time! you might as well say we lost most of the 90s motors through that f*cking joke of an idea! its killed the second hand car market has it not! You will be lucky to get a car for less than 500 quid now from a second hand car dealer now. As my mate used to buy them, run them until end of mot and tax and weigh them in.
You want a car like that now, its practically private sale!

Am I alone in finding these old Peugeots desperately uncool and dated? 504, 309, 205 etc

I don't like the 504 tbh... If a cheap 205 fixer pops up locally I'd be on it though.

Awesome mate but you'll spend every evening for the next 6 months welding it.
That said drop a turbo 2.1 lump in and have a winning RWD Peugeot drift truck.

Go wash your mouth out!
needs a sneaky 2.0 8v turbo in there but with that much room who knows! how cool would a small block chevvy motor be in a 504 pickup?

I know my metro is a rotten shed, you can say that no love will be lost!
All I am saying is you want a v6 or a v8 thing, nothing to do with metros
mind don't the Ford p100s get the V6 thing from the ford Granada dropped in them?
