Nice parking...
These do make an epic noise lol, think I'd be worried about engine rebuilds all the time though... Is this replacing the Alfa?

Look great, awful engine & worse mpg!

Dont you have to run these upto temp everytime you start it or it floods the engine or wont start or something?
Doesnt even own a 306.

And before you turn them off also have to redline it every time you drive it to stop carbon build up on the roters. My mate had to drive his 15 minutes everytime he when a 1 down the road to the shops Astor 6 Fast road/track project

No it's not replacing the alfa it's replacing the 406 v6 coupe.
So long as the engine is looked after and serviced regularly they arnt that bad, no they don't like short trips but I can use the alfa for them. Driving home last night was fun but couldn't give it too much as the wife was following me home. Plans are to sort the wheels , can get them done at work in the body shop. Uprate the coils and get some custom braided brake lines made up

Did they ever update the sunvisor throughout production?
I'm sure it's the rx8 that has a hole in the middle of the visor?

Me and my mate finded this dirt cheap toyo exhaust(yeah toyo I now)anyway sounds absolutely epic, popped and banged sound like a fighter jet,the power band of the engine is quite odd to get used to,but once you have they great.
they also pretty easy to drift and extremely hard to spin with all the stability stuff on. Astor 6 Fast road/track project

Yeh these are the perfect beginner drift cars. Very cheap now. how many miles has this done? Generally they need rebuilding around 90k from what ive seen.

These are amazing value now, and have a lot going for them. Fantastic handling and steering, rotary is awesome when on full chat and being used properly, but feels limp round town, fuel economy is awful and rebuilds are expensive...
26-03-2014, 08:36 PM
Fuel consumption isn't an issue as the 406 v6 was hardly frugal with the juice

They really aren't perfect. They drift alrite, but thats it. Beemers and MX-5's are perfect, because they're not only cheaper but reliable most RX-8's are a ticking time bomb and will promptly die after a couple of sessions. Also most std cars make about 180BHP at the wheels, which leaves people still thinking Mazda over-stated the power (they originally claimed 250BHP)

Fuel consumption hmm
120 miles to half a tank of shell v power and that on the hole has being driving conservatly !!! The mods start this weekend, Got some led sidelight bulbs and chrome indicator bulbs front and rear. Then wheels off at the front to measure up for starting to produce braided brake lines for it, will also be looking at the clutch line in braided aswell. Then all the exterior black plastics will be getting painted Peugeot graphite grey ( same colour as the wheels on my old s16) Then the front indicators are getting a tint Wheels going graphite grey aswell

Ooh time for a big update.
Well firstly this car ran faultlessly until December , the. It started knocking! So I arranged to use a ramp at work on a Saturday to investigate, well an SLK came for a play on a duel carriageway hmm he didn't get passed but the engine bearings shst themselves so new engine time! So I'm in the process of stripping it down and changing the engibe, of course along the way it's getting a few changes, People say the tb and inlet will flow 300 bhp easily , but pah I'll get porting abolishing them along with a bit of port matching Snapped a bolt going in to the exhsust stay bar so that's getting replaced with a tubular stainless item And as I'm off work and can't do much I have done a few bits I ca daily do Strut brace is now the color of my 406 v6 coupe All badges painted grey Yep need to sort some rust Bumper stripped down Fog lights removed and painted the same colour as the badges 97D_zpsgdodavyn.jpg[/IMG] The Lower lip is getting painted the same colour as aswell and the rear bits on the bumper will be done the same I then have a set of mesh grills to cover all the holeswhich will be getting painted grey The clear white lights are a bug aswell so I have tinted them Is whAt they will look like I just need some chrome bulbs to go with them, then I'll be getting a set of rear lights to smoke aswell The coils are a known weakness and suffer over heating due to how they are mounts so I've take. The standard mount , painted it and added some exhaust wrap as a heat proof barrier As they say every little helps Next up im looking to reduce intake temps, now thestabdardcsirbox is said to be as good as they get but it sits right over the radiator which had a suck fan on the back, so my plan is to line the box with the heat reflective take stuff |
