Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice although I think I know what the answer will be. Our Toyota Yaris 1.4 D4D will go into limp mode about once every 3 or 4 months and throw a p1121 fault code which is pedal position sensor fault. If you turn the engine off and restart the EML will go off and the car will drive as normal.
Toyota kindly charge £366 for the pedal + sensor (do not sell them separately) which I was reluctant to pay before trying to ascertain 100% where the fault lies. Back in November I had a professional diagnostics guy have a look at it, check wiring continuity and do a sweep of the sensor which of course didn't find anything wrong. He did give the contacts a clean at both the sensor and ECU end so I was crossing my fingers that might be the end of it. However, today it did it again whilst driving on the motorway (not ideal).
Buying a new pedal sensor sounds like an expensive punt but I don't really know what else to do, my gf does lots of motorway miles and so it needs to be fixed. Annoyingly there never seems to be any for sale at the breakers/eBay.
Any advice? Thanks in advance
