Christmas Meet 2014 (the actual meet)

Well the 2014 christmas meet is rapidly approaching and is now less than a month away. I know the majority of us going are going for the usual banter, drunkeness and general laughs but i suppose what with being a car orientated forum, we probably should have a car meet :p

The above screenshot is the hotel we are staying in. The hotel is the top building, then the pub as labeled with the bowling alley at the bottom. Im suggesting we meet in the carpark at the bottom of the pub area (parking immediately on your right as you pull in off the main road. The meet is December Saturday 6th at 1pm. This should give us lot staying the Friday night a chance to digest a fry up to clear our hangovers
We can mince about, talk about cars as per usual for a while and by then, the pub will be open for lunch and a few drinks if people want to get out of the cold.
Id love to see as many members here as possible as this will be when we are handing out the 2014 awards
I know most of us there will also be staying the night but for those new members here, don't be shy, feel free to come along and meet everyone, see some nice cars and laugh at Dumdum and of course, if you're brave enough, please do stay at the hotel with us and have a laugh! (Details can be found in the stickied Christmas meets thread)
Unlike most meets, I'm not suggesting a pre or post drive as most of us will be unfit to drive after a night of drinking so please bear this in mind that like all christmas meets, this will be a static meet and it is December so wrap up warm!

What is the plan for saturday afternoon? We all going to try and do something as a group? I felt last year it was all a bit separated within the group. Something like bowling or was laser quest mentioned somewhere?

I believe the plan is to actually have a car meet this year.

Bowling and the like would be better kept to other times imo, we have got a whole weekend to play with tbf. Last year we didn't actually have a meet and almost everyone who turned up for the day ended up disappointed, which doesn't seem fair to me.

The way I see it (well this is what happend at the reading meet) meet at 1pm, minced around till everyone was hungry, went to tgi's, had a good evening

The meet is at 1pm and I've left it fairly open ended. I doubt we will be outside for long looking at cars but we can either hit the pub and have a late lunch or there is a bowling alley at the end of the car park so we can all head there. Unless anyone else has any suggestions for things to do in Gloucester?

I dont think there needs to be any plans for activities as thats what separated everyone last year. If people want to do things then theres the weekend thread they can plan stuff in. Keep this a purely car park and pub.

Ok thats sounds good to me. I was just wondering that if there was a plan that it should be something everyone would like to do rather than skiing like last year that only a few wanted to do. That was my point any way not that i was trying to say we should do an activity. Chatting about cars works well for me

No, people going off in little groups and doing things not everyone wanted to do was what ruined last year IMO. Look at what happened in Reading, we all hung around in the car park (laughing at Matts high compression Rallye) together, then we all went to TGI's together, then we all sat down back at the hotel for the awards together. Even back at the "last" .net xmas meet, we all hung around in the car park, we all went to Taybarns for something to eat, then we all went to the bowling alley for a drink and a game or 2, a few of us even played laser quest, that was a cracking night. If we could replicate the same atmosphere as those 2 meets, itll be a great weekend

if people want go off for an hour bowling as its only across the car park then thats not a problem, but that can be agreed on the day, chat for a few hours get bored and cold, a few/half/everyone goes bowling, then back across to the pub for food and awards and the usual 306 bumming fest is how i see it going down.
