Uprated torsion bars
#1
Hi guys, I've recently bought a 6 from a fellow forum member (Callum). It's lowered on spax suspension but the rear is too low for my taste so I intend on raising it to match the front. I took the car down some twisty B roads and it felt that the rear was way too soft compared to the front even with spax shocks fitted. I'm thinking uprated torsion bars maybe the way to go especially if I'm going to be messing with ride height. Can anybody provide me with a current supplier that is reputable???? Also suggestions for what size bar to go for would be appreciated from anyone who has first hand experience of uprated bars

Thanks a lot

Dave

You would. I had 22.5mm on my car and hated it. On a track it would of been spot on but on British roads? No. Shite!

what dampers and ride height do you run Niall? I have 23mm bars on the road, no issues.

B6s and ride height was a matched drop to 30mm at the front.

When I swapped from 20mm to 21mm, was a GREAT difference. Not too firm, great feel.
Using GAZ adjustables and coilies on 275lb springs.

Feels brilliant...Ruan i dont think realised it was even on coilies at the weekend coz it rode so well.
Wishes for more power...

If it was me, I would consider changing the Spax to something like Bilstein before buying bigger bars. Even the boggo Bilstein B4s have better damping than Spax IMO.
