Decide whether or not I can come/can afford to come. Maybe shove some different wheels on, and give her a good clean.

Still deciding whether or not to come. It's convincing the mrs to come that's the problem, also it's not that suitable for little toddlers Sad

But in the coming weeks I need to-
MOT
fit replacement bumper
Yellow tint fogs
Fit black masks
Fit induction kit (I know it will make no difference!)
Get the stealth sub fitted and powered
Re-do b-pillar vinyl

I think that's all...

Thread revival!

All I have left now is tax the gti6, fit my blackmasks and badges and probably won't have time, but possibly get my bumper and ph3 strips repainted.

Might have to wait until after fcs for that though

Well ive got the car on the road, got to hope nothing goes wrong (buying breakdown cover later on).
Needs a damn good detail.
Sort some of the body work out.
I think that will be it for fcs.

I'm still stuck at #1 - decide whether to come.

It's normally a pretty disappointing show and for £40 for me and the Mrs I'd rather take her to the zoo / seaside for the day I think lol

Dont worry, we here at oc are professional at disguising any car as a Peugeot haha.

Somebody make the Merc a banner saying "made near France" or something lmao

I'm certainly getting there.

(01-05-2014, 07:04 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Fit FMIC, fit passenger bucket, fit ph1 rad and lower hose remove rear thermostat, fit fan, make rev counter work, put grub screws in roof, stop leaks through roof, fix fuel tank leak, put dehumidifier in car, refit front end without cable ties.

Just a little list lol

If I could get the rad and lower hose done Id actually have some motivation to do the rest.

So I've knocked a load off that list and added fit new wishbones, change tyre and smooth roof.

List now stands at (in order of importance):

Fix fuel tank leak (new seal and lock ring)
Fit wishbones and partner P-bushes (just need new pinch bolts)
Fit new NSF driveshaft (split CV boot)
Fit passenger bucket (need a bit of sheet steel)
Clean grinding dust off car (probably the next job)
Make rev counter work (needs alot of electrical testing)
Paint the odd hockey stick (need a dry day)
Switch to 10mm lines and truck filter (all needs buying)
Smooth roof (need filler)
Change OSF tyre (spare in garage)

Potentially less than a days work there, just need money for parts.

oh and MUST BUY A TRACK DAY LID!!!!!!

I might be getting mine back tomorrow or Thursday so once it's back outside my house the tickets will be booked.

Will likely fit the strut brace, maybe an air filter and give it a wash/polish. Not much time for anything, although guess I could repaint the rear brakes at least.

Is a 25 yr old benz really any better than a french diesel?...surely it needs to be more reliable to be a support vehicle? Tongue lol

Well, I've had it 2 months and done 4k miles without a single issue, even really minor. Also, ask around, you won't find many people who doubt the reliability of pre-Chrysler Mercedes...

Well, I've obviously not long acquired my estate, so the only things I'm likely to do will be stop the decat pipe from fouling the subframe, change the squeaky pas pump, sort the brakes out, and give the interior a bit of a tidy. Simples. Wink

I had a mammoth month last month fitting suspension, finishing engine, leccy power steering, replacing snapped driveshaft etc so now thankfully a short and relatively trivial list...

Carbon dip wingmirrors
Visit paint man for some scratch repair
Paint wheels
Paint cage
Find out where gear oil is going
Fix power steering leak
Rectify terrifying brake judder
