hey guys I brought a set of koni dampers second hand and springs. they have just turned up and im sticking new top mounts and bearings on. thought id check the dampers over they look ok BUT then the rod is pushed down on both dampers they dont move back up at all . I know some dampers dont which are gas I believe ? and as the konis are oil they should? so habe I been sold some shagged dampers or is that normal?
thanks ash

Normal. As the name suggests, they are there to damp the springs which will pull them back up.

depends which konis, but indeed they will only rise back up if pressurised with gas, not all are.
do they have the knob on the top or are they the type where you need to push the tod all the way down and turn the damper rod?

I bought koni adjustables from someone on here and they didn't push out when compressed.
ash23 - they may not be adjustable at all. The allen head is there to stop the rod turning while tightening/ loosening the top strut nut.
