Any other GTI6/Rallye Owners Under 20 on here?
#1
Just bought myself a T Plate Cherry Red Rallye, over the moon as ive got my dream car and as I have a 306 HDI too which I am bored of, am I the youngest rallye owner at 18?
When I get the rallye up and running the HDI will be coming off the road into storage until needed
It has been on the 306GTI6.net owners club before on a rolling road day page over there

Probably yes. How do you fuel a rallye at 18? Confused

I will have done around 5k by the time my year with the HDI finishes as I wont be doing very many miles over winter, so when that comes off the road I will be cutting out all the short journeys I do so will be doing a bit under 5k a year in the rallye when its up on the road!

Nice to know what your paying on your insurance

had a 6 just after my 19th birthday and it absolutely crippled me as i was paying 180 a month to insure it.

Yeah it was under 1k Tongue
Well, Im keeping standard exterior wise, putting my sony stereo in from the HDI into it, has supersprint exhuast and k&n induction kit from 2003! Haha, most likely induction kit will be coming off as its the thinnest induction kit ive ever seen.
Going to put it back on the road and just enjoy it for a bit before thinking about modifying it with cams etc

I bet you do haha, yeah it is! Looking forward to the nosie and the power delivery missing from the HDI, and in my opinion I think that cherry red's one of the nicest colours they did on the 306

Photos of the car I took when buying the car, not very good quality as took using my iphone and it needed a clean big time!

Dont know why these have turned out upside down :/

[attachment=15602]

Plans exterior wise are;

Buy a replacement cherry red bonnet (current one full of small chips and a medium acid rust patch)
Put my cyclones on from the HDI (with the newever and better tyres + in better condition)
Give it a very good wash and polish!
Remove the TOW stickers

Im 19 and I have a car with a 2.5 straight six (not for long)

Big engines can be surprisingly cheap to insure as all of the small engine cars get crashed by youths!

Nice car mate, lose the tow sticker on the back though, unless its a full time track slag it looks a tad ghey.

I'd just turned 21 when I got my first gti-6, I'm now 22 and a half.
I started with a 1.1L 106 and I'd always aspired to have a 106 gti but then it turned out that good 306s were cheaper to buy and cheaper to insure.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

Nice one, the 106's GTI's are now quite expensive and arent very safe in a crash too

I got my GTi6 at 20, would have bought it sooner but the insurance was really steep!

Would love another one as a weekend car, but currently saving for a house instead. Much less interesting Sad

Big cars are generally cheaper to insure than smaller ones. I was driving a 250bhp Saab at 18 yet couldn't afford to insure a GTi6. Work that one out!

Thats good that, my dads a bit older than yours and to insure him on it by himself would be £196

BMW e36 323i coupe, selling though as the fuel usage is just silly and the steering is really disappointing! (plus parts are twice as much as 306 parts)
Getting a d turbo instead!

Good man!
