So my pug is my first car, and i was wondering what other people chose first and why?
I chose my little pug because it was ridiculously cheap and felt a lot more fun than similar aged golfs and fiestas id looked at.

I had a Mk1 renault clio 1.2, simply because i have always loved mk1 clios and because i couldnt insure the 1.8 16v i was doing up at the time
But the little 1.2 8v was immense fun, even had a 'V8' badge on the boot

Technically my first car that I had on the road was a 306 Nad, but it only lasted 20 minutes before I boiled it to death haha
I think the car I had the longest after passing my test was a 405 Dturbo

Its weird that every first car has been different so far... A 306, a clio, a corsa, a rover mini, a 405 and a 205. Round where i live, pretty much everyone gets a corsa for cheap insurance

I travelled for all my cars to be honest apart from mini which I bought off a neighbour. To be fair though all my money went on insurance when I started driving. I used to cycle to work so I could afford to go driving in the evening.

Funny thing about first cars and insurance though, when I started driving all my mates were buying 1.0 micras, 1.2 corsas etc for supposedly "cheap" insurance, yet my 1.9 td 405 with t2 and a bosch pump (stage one tuned naturally ;-)) was half the price.
Only major difference was they were paying £60 for 6 months of tax while I was paying £120 but guess who had more fun

I started in a 1.6 petrol 306 then the 2.0 HDi 306 I currently own. At 30 I feel that's a very low number of cars to have owned.

when i was looking for cars, i found 1.4 petrol to be the cheapest and big engined diesels not too far behind. I don't think it matters on the size, more on the actual car.
