1.1 failed fast emissions

Hi all im more diesel orientated soo i dont know here but my friends 106 failed its fast idle emissions and he asked me what to do and i was like ummmm so thought i'd ask here... i suggested a service plugs and air and fuel filter aswell and a bit of 2 stroke in the petrol... He also says the exhaust isnt blowing but i ran out of ideas after that... so how else can we help a fellow pug owner??

Could be a dodgy lambda, what was the emissions report?

Post up the emissions results. Number of things it could be. Most likely a cat or lambda

my 2 previous 1.4 petrol's failed their emissions tests - both were dodgy lambda sensors.. cheap and easy fix.

Could be lambda he said its not very good on fuel either.. his driving style doesnt help mind haha i will post up the numbers when i see them hes doing it now

Right the limit for CO is 0.30 a he got 0.75 and on secong fast idle he got 0.60 everything else he passed just the CO levels where bad..... what we think??

You will be amazed at what an oil change can to too :-) makes a hell of a difference to emmisions

Definitely check the cat. Is there any engine warning lights up on the dash?

Well i cant wait to tell him all these a service and a possibly a new cat it is i wonder if he even has one :/
