Difference between a 1.9dt and a 1.9d?
Obviously the block etc, but what about ancillaries? Like starter, alternater etc?'
Would be awesome if they are the same but I think I'm being hopefull

Starter is the same as HDi (I believe), Depends on the PAS setup I found.
Couldn't mount the bracket to the XUD when the PAS pump was at the top. This was a 206, though early DW8 still. Rear mount from DW8 won't fit the XUD
I have a picture
Would bolt on 1 hole or something...can't quite remember....depends on your original setup though

Brackets are very different. Thus pas pumps dont swap.
Diff gearbox, clutch, fly. Different manifolds too IIRC

Yeah mount is hdi style.
Electrics shouldnt be too much bother...think the dw8 had egr solenoids...which can be 'carefully' removed.
XUD needs a ignition live for pump and sensor plugs and obviously 12v main for starter and alternator

the dw8 in a 206, is that multiplex? i doubt it is, but just curious.
basically my plan is to be ripping out a dw8 from a partner van, swapping as much as possible (starter, alternator, pas etc) onto an xud. so just hoping alot of it is the same.
i already know the dw8 in the van is going to be multiplex, so trying to find away around that, as i believe most sensors etc are the same? or can be swapped from the dw8 to the xud

Multiplex came in around early 2002 in the 206s
Mine is a 1999, T reg so similar to a PH2/3 306.
I would try and use the partner loom, most will plug in. May just have to find a ignition live for the pump. Would of thought it would have an ECU for the pump/sensors though....

I have no idea about the ecu unfortunatly I won't know until it gets here and sheds some light on it for me.
Worse case scenario is a dt lump in it, with no gauges etc working lol

The sensors are relativity the same IIRC, only one I remember changing is the oil pressure one to have the new style plug.
And the pump plugs wouldn't give me a decent 12v igniton feed, so I ran my own.
Be interesting to see once you get it.

Just a thought, if I was to grab a pre 2002 engine loom, and hook it up would that work?
As pre 2002 didn't use the multiplex bollocks? Or would I have to change the dash loom too? I know people have done this swap before, but no idea how they got round the multiplex. Any threads I've found Are not exactly the most helpful lol...

Hmmm, not sure it would plug in...would of thought the wiring pin-outs would be different on the m'plex chassis loom to the p'plex engine loom.
That said, I've never done it.
I would be inclined to try and keep the DW8 Multiplex loom and fit it to the XUD. See how you go from there.

I was thinking that Liam, in short term it's, xud in, switches for glow plugs and ignition and go.
Long run I want it running oem with standard clocks etc

Seriously people are making this far to complicated than it sounds grab a complete xud9te engine out of a 306 and drop it in don't mess about with trying to keep dw8 mounts. As for the loom just use the loom that's in the berlingo at worst youl just need to swop a couple of sensor out of the dw8 engine. Doesn't matter if it's multiplex or not it's going to flag an engine warning light either way. 12v to the stop solenoid and way you go.

does the multiplex wiring/ecu stuff not make a difference?
this is all new to me, so bare with me
if i rip out the dw8 from the partner, remove sensors ancilaries and put onto a bare xud9, then refit it will work with no issue? using the already existing loom thats in the partners bay? i have no idea what the ecu controls and google is not giving me the response that i need
edit: by doing this would speedo etc work as it should?

Just drop a 306 unit in complete and connect the berlingo wiring loom up any sensors that differ to the dw8 put them on the xud. I used a ph1 xud engine so just alternator and power steering

If it were me doing it id use an xud engine with all ancillaries, plumb in power steering etc.
Wiring wise i would remove each wire of the dw8, labelling as i go, starter alternator, water sensor etc etc. same for xud loom.
and wire dw8 loom to xud engine, and differences in plugs then(if theres even any) i would go back to xud loom and cut them off and wire into the dw8 loom

Has this conversion/swap been completed now?
How did you get on/are you getting on with it?
I'm missing the torque of a turbo charged lump, so thinking of doing the same conversion to my Partner Combi.
Mine is 2001, DW8 engine and has an ECU strapped to the back of the battery tray.
Which gearbox have you used, DW8 or XUD and if XUD, which driveshafts?
Sorrrrrry for all the questions
Will
