What a mental thing, typical American thinking. Just stuff a huge engine in it! Not a bad thing...

Still epic.
Not got world record though as its not officially a production car and did only one run at 270mph

Hardly, it only set that speed the other day?! It was only reported on yesterday!
Whilst impressive it's not got a patch on the engineering of the Veyron. Introduce a slight corner, or a crosswind and I know what car I'd rather be in at 200+!
Oh and it's assembled in Bedfordshire

It set most of its records years back and did do unconfirmed 270mph couple years back in testing...just this is first time others have been watching/filming.
True to say, you have to question quality/engineering, as there must be a reason why it was only able to do one run at 270!!

As well...how difficult is it actually just to get virtually the biggest displacement engine you can and shove in to a light chassis based on an existing car...?

It is based on a lotus exige platform and uses lotus VIN numbers, they are registered as heavily modified exiges.

Assembled in Norfolk/Silverstone allegedly!
You have to wonder what a Veyron SS would do given some extra space though...

Go and read the stories surrounding it, rather than hypothesising from the video.
The run was done on the space shuttle landing strip, NASA would only allow them to do one run. They've been setting records with the GT40 Camo car for many years, so that in itself is a testament to their engineering skills.

Well both of those aren't Bedfordshire, but very interesting to read the bits on Wikipedia about it, strange strange strange production process?!?!

Lol Hennessey have been twisting cars into monsters for years, from what i've seen half the point of the venom is to demonstrate that Americans can make cars that handle too. Quality of engineering? Well they've been successfully modifying the higher part of the high-performance market for long enough now that they can charge huge amounts to teach other people how, i daresay they can handle it lol.
