also started my 306 dt box conversion to work in the 306

start with 1 xud box
[Image: IMG_0053_zps963f4a59.jpg]

remove 3 13mm bolts from speedo housing and lift off
[Image: IMG_0054_zps786aebe5.jpg]

turn box and remove 4 16mm bolts on the diff housing
[Image: IMG_0056_zpsb82779dd.jpg]

then remove the 11mms on the diff housing
[Image: IMG_0057_zps0c344c4b.jpg]

and lift off to show the diff and crownwheel which will simply lift out
[Image: IMG_0058_zps7ede7085.jpg]

next job is remove the 8 17mm bolts from the crownwheel (be careful as the threads have been known to strip)

then put the diff to one side and keep the crownwheel close
[Image: IMG_0063_zps62d2c658.jpg]

repeat the same with the 205 box only put the crownwheel to one side and keep the diff ready for refitting.

comment welcome

right then decided to pu the gearbox back together now that i have removed the 205 diff,

Firstly i put the diffs side by side to see why i was unable to use the original 306 one and also as alot of people are unsure as to why the 205 shafts doesnt fit a standard 306 box so heres photograhic evidence,

The 306 diff is on the right and as you can see the pin in the middle is what causes the 205 driverside shaft to not fit due to the diff not being as 'deep' as the 205 one.

once the 306 crownwheel is cleaned up put it on to the 205 diff and refit the 8 17mm bolts and torque them up to 65nm
[Image: IMG_0066_zps5ac96dba.jpg]

then add sealant to your diff housing, i used Loctite Black Sealant as i use it for waterpumps and its great stuff
[Image: IMG_0067_zps0a2dad28.jpg]

new diff all cleaned up and fitted
[Image: IMG_0068_zpse429b6ad.jpg]

all back together and cleaned up a little bit with the 205 speedo housing fitted aswell
[Image: IMG_0069_zps17a08f8a.jpg]

right no the box is back together you need to pinch a few other bits from the 205,

replace the 306 arm
[Image: IMG_0070_zps2e66e58e.jpg]

with the 205 one
[Image: IMG_0070_zps2e66e58e.jpg]

these are an absolutle ******* to remove and i ended up chopping my arm up a little bit then had to improvise to get the gear selector to work properly, when i get my welder back i will secure properly
[Image: IMG_0072_zpsdb3e6523.jpg]

and also need to fit this sensor to the 306 box
[Image: IMG_0074_zpsba17fbf3.jpg]

and that was it for tonight and also a second coat on the brakes

Right sunday was car day so went shopping and bought all the service stuff for the leon inc brakes all round and also some bits for the 205 and cracked on

First job was to cut and shape my roof sheet and get it drilled ready
[Image: 1DC12159-D4D0-4A15-BEF8-68DA543F9BFB_zpsle8yaugf.jpg]

Next job silicone roof, and pop rivet this badboy down
[Image: E817D8E9-1DE7-4DA8-8E50-7FFB3FE12795_zpshwtzzpym.jpg]

Job jobbed, whilst outside thought i would trial fit the bonnet , not to bad
[Image: A9B6D514-7074-4941-9358-8E59082A19EA_zpsmh6nlkp0.jpg]

Then finished some painting, brakes, engine mount bracket and steering wheel plastics
[Image: 33D5DC74-C6BD-400C-9D31-EDF2639D43EA_zpsphkl49eu.jpg]

[Image: 6EB176E2-14F0-4A84-BBF1-40E26472280D_zpsuoxxz0an.jpg]

[Image: C257D10F-A2D1-47F9-80A1-27A76269ADDE_zpsqu1nlp6d.jpg]

Then last job for the 205 was finish making the seat base for passenger seat
[Image: EC7FA1ED-5AD2-4C0C-9C34-005B03F84582_zps71jlqsdc.jpg]

Finally both fitted, i also cut a sheet for my switches in the dash.

Finished the day giving the leon a full service with brakes aswell only to find LOTS of mayo in the oil filler neck but doesnt bother me as its just a workhorse so will just run it til it dies but still sorted it anyway
[Image: 684FE3EB-5CC0-473C-BD8A-E037D817A539_zpsemgbvw4z.jpg]

and thats upto date now, comments welcome Smile Smile Smile

[Image: 6D231E3C-44FC-4993-87AC-1BE7728FAE49_zpswne7wfx1.jpg]

next up was time to remove the subframe, had a right ballache removing 2 nuts as the bush was fcuked so had to completly remove them.

[Image: A45E52B3-972F-4BCF-A1E9-823F4B899FFD_zpstkbsvccz.jpg]

[Image: 25925AE1-DC45-449B-8B9C-796C3E44872D_zps2hhjplia.jpg]

21 year old subframe

[Image: 82F7CD72-6E6A-4A14-B796-C8EB091C1A2E_zpsxsdva5k5.jpg]

steering rack was looking a little worse for wear so started with removing that

[Image: 621CA37B-903F-43E0-84F6-457DF62D0B04_zpstcqpn8wx.jpg]

start the strip down

[Image: ADBF955D-793F-4BCA-B453-76A691C0881C_zps3fnfch6h.jpg]

[Image: C52C9ED5-5124-4A37-B19B-2A169AB974E1_zpsdbvtkasg.jpg]

already have new track ends and droplinks so now need to order new wishbones and inner tie rods Smile

[Image: FC16B403-71E7-419F-B558-5BCAED069D2D_zpsctt7bpbw.jpg]

then i was 9pm and considering i have to be up at 5am i left to go home and have a shower lol

Update time,

Stripped the rest of the subframe, so i could start to work on replacing what was needed
[Image: 872D2FDA-6624-4130-B902-8CC0E3F9D379_zpsjwmjhte0.jpg]

finally removed the bushes
[Image: 06BACCAA-C045-4AE1-9AC1-2E78CBBBE8FD_zpsv5lpladb.jpg]

next up need to get the remainder of the driveshafts out of the hubs, que the massive bar and hammer to loosen the driveshaft nut
[Image: AF994C86-A1A5-4C67-9B74-1D10BFDB5EEB_zpsu6yhgj6z.jpg]

voila
[Image: 143EE74F-6357-4FDD-A844-AB77E652B839_zpskjf8ymoo.jpg]

the wishbones will be getting binned as the fcuked, the fronts struts will be having new top mounts (bought) and 50mm GTi lowering springs (bought).

next up was turbo time Smile Smile Smile Smile

i had initially put a k14 on just to get it back in the car and running but then a t25 popped up for sale so ended up buying that all tho not quite bolt on as advertised but nothing i couldnt sort out.

k14
[Image: F03BEEBF-BCD3-4889-B8C3-A9E89C5BA753_zpsm5surx4n.jpg]

k14 and t25 gonna be some serious fun when it gets on boost as it the t25 from an sr20det
[Image: 68985CFB-84F3-4830-95FD-695551F8ACCB_zpspu9akmqy.jpg]

and on
[Image: A889A589-8FB7-4E3E-990B-3065124A01A5_zps3lwn3dew.jpg]

the main issue is the outlet and inlet need to be purchased but looks like it might be tight
[Image: C9FBA638-5BB9-4AEE-A6BB-21A710DF5847_zpsficmvyzj.jpg]

and this is whats needed
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Compressor...1208498429

and then a little view from the drivers seat (gauges not wired up was just playing with positioning
[Image: 1AB4E58E-23E8-4F2C-BAD9-79E1113282E2_zpszehbajho.jpg]

also drilled the bulkhead and ran my stainless brakelines inside ready for when i start the rear beam
