Poor headlight output
#1
Hi.
Due to work hours, I am spending most of the time driving in the dark down rural roads and finding the headlight to be poor especially if I have to switch to dip. Basically what upgrades is there out there from budget to expensive? They kept clean and output is still poor.

Cheers

Osram Nightbreakers, amazing bulbs that make a huge difference, about £9 delivered off Amazon.

Osram night breakers
Phillips blue vision

Both good and a noticeable difference over stock ones.

Another vote for Nightbreakers here, although ive not tried Blue vision yet. As Niall says, they are notably better than standard bulbs, im running 3 sets of them in mine....dipped, mains and the fogs. The fogs dont necessarily increase overall visibility, but they light up the ground just in front of the bumper better when coupled with the main bulbs.

Also improve the earthes

The 306 earthes were marginal when the car rolled off the production line , add ten years of degrading and they can cause all sorts of problems

Thats still not everything you need for legal HIDs.

Washers and level isn't required, there are cars out there from factory without either of those fitted. They're only tested if fitted.

Only required to have washers fitted in NI.

I didn't want HID's as I was aware of the legalities of them. Halfords bulbs. I had them on my focus and my trade card will be used there. Interesting about the earth, but makes sense.

I've got hid's, i think mine's got the projector lights, well it's a clear lens, then again i'm probably talking bollox....so far though, i've had no problem with other drivers flashing. I've just got a good white light, not the posey blue stuff

Passing an MOT does not mean that all modifications on the vehicle are definitely road legal.

These are utter pish, stuck them in one side - no notable difference from standard osram bulbs - took them straight back for a refund.

Night breakers on the other hand ...
