This is my first time on this forum and I am very impressed on your rundown on the Peugeot Planet and key registering.

You never got back to who the PP clone manufacturer is or any info at all about how to buy one.

I live in Australia and four cars. We have a Peugeot 2008 407, 2010 207, 2004 206 GTi 180, a Citroen 2006 C3, and a Suzuki 2010 Swift Ralley.

I am seriously considering buying a PP especially as the quantity of PSA cars is growing as well as the age. Too happy with them to get rid of. I have known for some time that a lot of unnecessary maintenance work and replacement parts can be avoided when codes can be accessed and diagnosed (is the same with aircraft, being my trade).

Another thing I am puzzled about is that some people buy the PP and the Lexia 3. Aren't they meant to be the same thing except for the connecting harnesses and logo.

Could you fill me in on the above please?

yes pp2000 is the software and lexia 3 is the hardware used i think!

as for where to buy i bought mine from ebay most on there are sold but are chinese clones which get removed from ebay because of the pirate software

the one i bought was a clone and works well on my 306HDi 206 hdi (pre can) and 206 1.1 (can) we own at present

I can highly recommend Jim at Easy Diagnostics for all things Lexia. The hardware he sells is top notch and will work with the latest versions of diagbox, as we know ebay clones can be hit and miss. He's also very helpful and will even do remote installation and troubleshooting I believe. He gives a club discount over on French Car Forum, it might be worth asking about one for here?

All of this could well have saved me so much hassle in the past when I have been buying spares and stuff in various countries...

The build code 7834 allowed me to use the software and determine the year of manufacturer ie. 1998. It matches what I originally thought but was not absolutely certain.

I have looked everywhere on my car for this code but cannot find it. Just out of interest can you advise where this code is located. I have a serial number embosed on right side of engine bay. Manufacturer plate in the boot and loading details by front right door. None of my plates or stickers matches the format and content of the samples I see on the web though and none of them have this code?

This morning I found another strange code on the manufacturer metal plate right at the bottom----> 64108 but sadly this is yet another one of the many codes I find but no idea what the intent is!!

I can send you pics of the plates and stickers I have...my car was built in France and exported to Seychelles (where I live)

being a 7 code it it either on a strut top painted numbers or on the bulk head lip near where the heater motor is on a R/hand drive car later cars have the info on stickers on the drivers A or B pillar

If the code is incorrect, it won't even let you to the stage where you program the key. Will just say incorrect code. Your issue sounds like the fob is buggered or the fob is from another car

I take pp wont install on anything other than xp since I see a few people looking for an old xp laptop I have tried installing on my vista laptop and win7 desctop but both crash at the splash screen?

First post here! I recently got the cloned PP interface off Ebay and it is possible to run it on Vista/Win7/8 machine using a virtual XP.
I first tried with the Windows 7 version of the virtual environment but got errors, but with a bit of hunting found the solution.

Download and install VMware player plus, this is free;

sorry to bring up an old thread. I needed the display reset in my car after having to change the MFD due to fade out. The local Peugeot dealership didn't know how to do this, "I can put a post on the help forum if you like" was their suggestion. I hunted around various forums for advice and found enough information to give me the confidence to go ahead and do it myself.

me has a lexia 3 cable from a french forum-auto forum, price is not cheaper than ebay or others, but with better firmware built, with 3 software: lexia 3, Peugeot Planet v48 and Diagbox v7.57

There are various videos available on the internet to show how to install and use this software. There were one or two updates to add but these were no problems either.

When plugged into the car it was surprisingly easy to navigate through the menus and configure the display to my settings. I now have a fully functional diagnostic kit for all Peugeot and a good few quid still in my pocket. I have no Citroen cars, i am not sure if it works as good as Pug.

I've recently bought PP2000 and have followed the guide on how to use it but for some reason it won't read the cars BSI or ECU, it will however read the ABS, airbag and Air Con ecu. I've re ran global testing numerous times and even tried specififically on each ECU but got no where. Could this mean my cars had a new ECU and BSI at some point in its life or is there a fix? Thanks for any help
