D8A block and hdi conrods

D8A block and hdi conrods

i got told the other day the conrods in the earlly d8a block are the same strength as the hdi rods is it true ? just looking for advice cheers

rumour has it they're stronger, i've seen no proof but i'm happy to have a D8a block myself . .Smile

It's a myth I've blown 2 engines first was a dhy spat one rod

Most recently spat 2 rods on a low mileage d8a

Nothing's safe

I'm running a totally stock D8A with the VNT bar the arp studs

201bhp, he spat a rod, and theres a guy on here that ran 236bhp, think his is still going.

I would imagine it was not the rod at fault really,more likely to be the bearing.

I put Hdi rods in for piece of mind... Not that thats at all relevant to you Smile

Always the rods bending, or the bearings spinning as a result of the rods bending ....
