anyone know the exact location of the ecu thanks dudes, replacing the central locking from a scrap moter i got, i git x reg 306 meridian thanks,..

chip in key not working so replacing ecu barrel and chip thing by barrel and the main computer sholud do it do you think.?

Not being funny, but open the bonnet and it's pretty obvious!!

Normally a silver unit, roughly 4x5x1inches with a load of wires coming out the top/side.

Lol, as above, it's behind the battery, in its own separate compartment of the battery box on the 1.4.

You'll also need to change the BSI (immobiliser box) which is at the bottom of the centre dash, roughly behind the cig lighter, in that area. You don't need to change the pickup around the barrel as it's just a 'reader' rather than containing a code. And you also don't need to change the key barrel, just swap your key blade onto the replacement key fob.

For all that hassle it might just be easier to get it recoded.

If he's replacing the transponder chip etc, he most probably means the BSI guys. Which is below the temperature/clock unit in the dash Smile

I have unlocked ECU if interested out of 306 LX 1.6 bypasses the immobiliser
