Hi All
Stripping my 6 engine head down, has anybody changed valve stem oil seals?
Look at my haynes manual, but this does not deal with the 6 engine,
Tried to remove one with pliers, but it wont seem to budge, obviously dont want to go into animal mode and feck up the head.
Cheers

Use some flat pliers. That's what I found was best to use

Watch out, there are different sizes!
The bit of paper from my head gasket set says there are three different options:
6x26.5x17 FAI part number: VSK860
6x29x17.5 FAI part number: VSK870
7x29x16 FAI part number: VSK870B
Looks like you have to measure internal and external diameters, and presumably the length/height.
All come in bags of 16 (I knew keeping every scrap of paper I had to do with the car would come in handy one day...)
Let me know how you get on. Didn't have the energy to refurb my head by the time I got it off to do the HG, so have no experience of valve stem seals.
